Wireless Configuration
Configuring WPA Wireless example
From Main Screen, click on the Windows Start button located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
The “Start” window will appear showing all available icons. Scroll down and double-click on the “Wireless Companion” folder
From the “Wireless Companion” folder, double-click on the “Wireless Configuration Editor” Icon.
The “Config Editor” screen will appear. Click on <Manage Profiles> button.
The “Manage Profiles” screen will appear. Double-click on the white screen. You will see a pop-up window the option to add a profile. Click on the “Add” option.
The Wireless LAN Profile Entry will appear. This will be a 7 step process that will require you to complete with the following information.
Step 1 of 8
Profile Name: Enter name here
ESSID: Wireless ESSID name
Click on <Next>> button.
Step 2 of 8
Operating Mode: Infrastructure
Country: USA (Please note that a “Warning” window will appear. Click on “ok” located on the top right of warning screen to continue)
Click on <Next>> button.
Step 3 of 8
Security Mode: WPA – Personal
Authentication Type: None
Step 4 of 8
Encryption Type: TKIP
Enter Preshared Key (PSK) using: Pass-phrase
Leave the “For added Security – Mask characters entered” dialogue box checked. You can uncheck this box if you want to view the pre-shared key you are typing in the next screen.
Click on <Next>> button.

Key: < This step must be completed by PC Support >
Confirm: < This step must be completed by PC Support >
Please note that a “Status Key & Confirm Key Fields Match!” message will appear as a confirmation if you have typed the passphrase correctly.
Click on <Next>> button.
Step 6 of 8
Leave the following dialogue boxes checked:
“Obtain Device IP Address Automatically”
“Obtain DNS Address Automatically”
“Obtain WINS Address Automatically”
Click on <Next>> button.

Transmit Power: Power Plus
Click on <Next>> button.

Battery Usage Mode: CAM
Click on <Save> button.
Configuring A radio only option
From Main Screen, click on the Windows Start button located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
The “Start” window will appear showing all available icons. Scroll down and double-click on the “Wireless Companion” folder
From the “Wireless Companion” folder, double-click on the “Wireless Configuration Editor” Icon.
The “Config Editor” screen will appear. Click on <Options> button.
The “Options” window will appear. From the Options window, click on the drop down menu and click on “Band Selection” option.
Under “Band Selection” option, check the “5 GHz Band” dialogue box. Click “ok” on the top right of “Options” window when complete.
Configuring Device Power
From Main Screen, click on the Windows Start button located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
The “Start” window will appear showing all available icons. Scroll down and double-click on the “Settings” icon.
From the “Settings” window, double-click on the “System” folder.
The “System” screen will appear. Click on the “Power” icon. The power window will appear displaying the battery meter.
Click on the “Advanced” tab located on the top right of the “Power” screen.
Change the following parameters:
Turn off device if not used for <5 minutes>
Please note that the default setting is one minute and whenever device turns off the network connection is lost. You can also uncheck the “Turn off device if not used for” dialogue box to stop device from going to sleep mode.
